A company called Stars Guitars used to make those Ric replacement bridges. Looks pretty decent, though I'd never route a 4002. I'm sure it was done before anybody had a clue what the bass would be worth in the 21st century.  :-\ And sorry, but I don't buy the Geddy Lee story. Why would every Ric he owned have a Badass, and this one got a Stars?  ???

My 11 year old bass playing son just looked at the 4002 pic. His response: "Wow." Pauses for two seconds. "I don't like the bridge." He certainly got it.

This 21-fret '71 Burg has it all.

All it needs is a horseshoe.

This one will probably go sky-high. Buyer and seller will both be happy.

I bought a 21 fretter back in the late 1990's for $500. Tried and tried to find info on it but everyone at the old alt.rickenbacker site thought it was fake.  I even found photo's of Chris Squire using one on The Yes Album.  Wish I still had it but sold it for the $500 I paid for it on Ebay.  It was a pretty beat Mapleglo with replaced tuners and a few missing parts.  They have a sound all their own and sound just like "Your's Is No Discrace" type of tone.  It was the one that got away for sure......

That Burg '71 had a BIN of 8K at the start but someone put in a first bid that took it away.

Not to surprising I guess, with 9 days to run and bidding taking off already... I don't think 8K will be a problem now... maybe someone will curse later...  :-\

Not a bass, I know, but he's also got a rather nice 1966 360/12 for sale, too... just my 12 string thing ("So you wanna be a rock-n-roll star...")

It would be nice to be able to give them both a new home...  :)

I can easily forgive his English, I can't forgive his pricing. Or have these doubled in price recently?

And I bought my Shadow for $750... and a sweet '61 Gibson for $899... these days are gone. Not as many clueless sellers on eBay as there used to be.

That's a 2000 series -- 2030, I think. I didn't care for them. The ones I played had uncomfortably wide and thick necks. They didn't have the usual Rick sound (or appearance, except for the headstock) and they were bolt-ons, so they never caught on with the Rick faithful.
