I still can't get over how much further north we are in London than most of the US and how much lighter we get off from weather extremes...

So that was what Kossoff, Kirke, Tetsu & Rabbit were singing about ........  ;)

Reporting after first practice with the bass....note that I played with both pickups at 100%, and the strings are new rounds, which is definitely not my normal practice as a mostly flats player.

Pickups are somewhat bright.  First time I have heard what I would call "piano-like" sound from a bass...but the guitarist remarked about it saying "that sounds like a piano!"  Perhaps a touch of reverb helped...there was a presence like a piano in a hard-walled concert hall.  Very interesting.  Definitely has a different voice than other basses.  VERY sensitive to changes in finger and pick position.  Playing over the bridge pickup gives extreme brightness and a rather metallic pick sound which I don't like much.  Playing over the neck pickup gives a much more rounded sound, fuller and more pleasing to my ear.  Hand position definitely causes more difference in this bass than others I've played.

Overall, definitely a solid, quality bass with a distinctive sound.  The Gumby-waist makes it very easy to find a comfortable right hand position.

There's a pair of very distractive thingies on those two videos.

Classic cinema at its best. Or their best.  Or something.  :o

You've gone from De Armond Jetstars to Mel Brooks. What in the Wide, Wide World of Sports is a-goin' on here?

Let's push that envelope and go from absurdity to obscurity...

Bonus points for running the link on to a major series of movies... :vader:
