Perhaps, allerliebster Mark, you should consider a stage name change to "Miss Fanny Fünquette"?

I'm a lot of things, but sadly I don't "Funk" very well.

I can't get worked up about any of this. Whatever works better.

Honestly, to me, we're splitting some pretty short hairs with it - either version is a fine instrument in my judgement. I'm very happy to own them. I don't think the online shots do justice to the colors, the red is just beautiful.

 Some pics..........
I have to agree with Scott, it was a well made bass just as it was - it would have been nice if they had kept production in Indonesea and just offered new colors. A couple of points though, a couple of my bird do have pitched necks, as does my Les Paul Oversize - I don't find it to be an issue, certainly not one of quality or how low the action can be set up, if anything my new red one has better action than the older white one. Interestingly, the black spacer on the neck pickup is faithful to the real deal and is present on my Greco and Lull, so I'm well over that.

 A couple of comparison shots

Note box on the floor, it's some Gibson RI Thunderbird pickups for our esteemed Hollander Rob.

When I started, I used to switch hands stroke for stroke and only stroked away from my body (a laborious habit I kicked eventually), I mean I had no manual or anything, this was strictly learning by doing! Mom was supportive in the aftermath though, out of nowhere a tissue box appeared on my nightstand. We never talked about it.  ;D

And then that orange thing ... A friend's dad had a paperback with PLAYBOY (or was it PENTHOUSE?) Letters to the Editor, one of them raved how much the writer enjoyed impregnating oranges. Oranges is something you generally have at home, so I gave it a try following instructions painstakingly. Well, what can I say, it's messy and it burns, overrated really. I ate the remnants of the experiment - let nothing go to waste!

Here I thought I was the twisted one!
I was weariong Mom's clothes the first time "it" happened - messy, very messy! Wasn't exactly sure what had happened at first, but it sure felt good, couldn't quit after that!

I thought even left-handers, plighted as they are, don’t have a choice between left and right ejaculation. Have I been missing something all these years and is there an ambidextrous secret?

Well, when I do it left handed, it feels like someone else is doing it - Not a bad thing!  :-*

Remaining stuck in your anal stage
is a terrible thing they say.

PS: Not sure whether I really want to "follow" Gerber's baby carrot food on its "journey", I have a pretty good idea how it will end.

It's otherwise a cool bass, I like the re=issue pickups a lot, and in a short scale like this I bet they sound really good - That color though, why? They make all these cool guitars and just do this $#!* for bass players.

I recently read that the Hellcat was a conservative design produced to perfection and the Corsair a cutting edge one sloppily executed. Quality issues abounded while the Hellcat was extremely reliable and well-made plus easy to service and repair.

No doubt true, but Grumman had the Wildcat to draw upon and improve as practical knowledge, it was a good starting point, the recovery of a nearly intact Zero in the Aleutians gave the designers exactly what they needed to make a better aircraft. Chance Vought started somewhere else with the clean sheet of paper, the design was of course refined as time went on - like every successful fighter design in WWII. The Corsair lasted into Korea in a ground attack role and was highly regarded by it's pilots, the Hellcat finished WWII and was quickly replaced by the Bearcat, Tigercat and various jets.

Why, because that Corsair was AI-manipulated so you innocently mistook it for a Hellcat?

 Which was which?

You have enough Thunderbirds, Mark.

Respectfully, no. There's at least one or two more that I really would like to have.
