A guy on a Dutch forum posted this monster: a 1000 watt tube amp
Look at all those tubes!
Look at the huge transformers!

It's a Champ CBA 20807 - 1000. A British Amp.
Look at more pics and details here

I have no idea how it sounds but I bet you can easily take a skyscraper down with this thing
-
Comes with it's own power-station, I presume...
... and has anyone here ever heard of the expression "jumped the shark,,," or maybe Douglas Adams' "Disaster Area"? ;D
-
If those run clean you could get two and run your stereo through it!
-
very practical i'm sure

There ya go! Use them as monoblocks driving a pair of giant Maggies:

(always wanted to try those, but can't afford any more hobbies (http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k125/0chromium0/forums/smilies/bananadead3.gif))

If you can't take the heat...here's the solid state solution. Or rather four of them.

This actually exemplifies a classic saying: "Anything worth doing is worth doing to excess."
-
I may be interested if there's a combo version.
-
You'd have to supply your own casters.
-
Maybe a pair of those would fit nicely. ;)

Cool! That amps need a Big Cab of TecAmp with, erm, what is it? I believen 4x10 + 2x12 + 2x15 in one cab.

Yep, but you want to make sure you're using some neo speakers. Ya' know, to keep the weight down ;)

Agreed. With neos, it should be easy for two guys and a small cherry picker to move it anywhere that doesn't have stairs.

Here's the fun part: that big monster isn't even a complete amp. There are no preamp or driver sections. It will take roughly a 60 watt amp just to act as a DRIVE stage for that monster.

if i read parts 1 and 2 of the links correctly it has its preamp and driver = still massive

from the end of part 2: She has been on (off at night whilst I am in bed) and like this for about ten days on soak-test now, and believe me…the blue plasma glow in the 807’s (which they are quite famous for doing) is getting better and better by the day! My next move is the pre-amp and drive stages.
He has circuit provisions for a 6SN7-based preamp with EL36's for drivers, but they're not installed yet. All he's posted so far is power supply and output stage test measurements, which BTW, are incredibly impressive. A pair of EL36's, not-so-coincidentally, make around 60 watts when run in pairs.

;D
my amp doesn't RMS 60 watts! it sounds good, just not a lot of balls (short for ballistics)! it only powers two 12"s though. maybe my FenderSunn project will help that a bit when i can get it to a good 15".

What if it becomes sentient...? :o

OK now I'm into big powered amps but 1000w of tube = 5h!tl04ds more real power than a class D or tranny. That is awesome. Anyway who has ever played in a band with a keyboard player with a Hammond B3 and a Leslie cab? The logistics involved in gigging a B3 would be similar to using this amp ;D
-
Yes but imagine a B3 using this amp, wouldn't that be awesome? :P
-
Got a buddy with a 1958 C3 tipping the scales at 485lbs. Of course it doesn't leave the house, but it is one hefty hunk-o-organ ;D.

Our keys player read this thread and has been walking around salivating and looking quite a lot more like our drummer since your comment exiledarchangel ;D
