New P bass project
« on: September 15, 2010, 08:33:05 PM »
I've had an old Buscarino Nova Fender style bass neck with ebony board laying around for a bit.  I scored a nice Fender body off of Ebay that had a cool blue sparkle finish.  I put in an old Bartolini Hi-A pickup and just have to take it to my local tech to have it all buttoned up.  I'm not 1/64th as talented as some of you guys here and besides you should see my solder work!  :o  The Nova neck is wide and flat 1 3/4 at the nut and the body was a light one.  Hopefully it will sound nice when done and then I'll have a cool P bass to mess around on.

Looks pretty nice.  My guess is that those Hi-A pickups will do the trick.  Even the Bart 8S I had in a couple of failed projects for my son overcame a couple of pretty bad basses.

Wow, that  looks nice.  A pretty beefy neck, too.  I'm afraid I couldn't play that one!!
