I returned the Gibson NonRev, as you know, so I got my money back. I could get a great offer on a G&L Tribute Fallout, so that one followed me home, yesterday.

I wasn't even aware of her, how embarrassing, she's an indelible part of pop culture!

She is. But don't feel bad, you are concentrating at fallschirmjäger while I try to concentrate on Dutch popart.

The 335 doesn't have TB pickups but 6 pole guitar hunbuckers.

People who never played semisolids like a Guild Starfire or EB2, often don't realise how deep the body in the middle is. The sides may have a P-ish thickness, but you have domes at the back and front. So the middle part is so much deeper than the sides and that's where the center block is. A guild Starfire (or EB2) isn't a light bass at all! Same for similar basses as the Hagstrom Swede, Warwick Star Bass, etc.

I love it, Rob! I will think about it and the most important thing is: the colour. I guess you know me, seeing that mock up, but I don't think that will be it. Let's think!

Talking about AI. Maybe if Gibson starts using it, they can really come with the basses the players want.

Other Bass Brands / Re: Searching for Macca's missing bass
« on: November 07, 2023, 01:58:19 AM »
For some weeks there was a lot to do about this. I was even called by Dutch national radio and I did an interview for the radio news on two channels, talking about the missing bass. This was early September. After that it went a bit quiet again.

There is some news though: the bass wasn't stolen in '69, as everybody thought, but in '72 in Notting Hill: https://thelostbass.com/news

I'm always positive, but realistic too. I agree with Dave: a small chance it will be returned.

I have an idea for years, but I first have to win the lottery. One of my dream basses is a one pickup Tbird, like you made for mr. Laut. Well, a reversed one then. I'm also a big fan of semisolids, of the JCS, and the Tbird.

A while ago I visited a guitar shop which had some Trini Lopez sigs and a Dave Grohl sig. This sunday I saw Noel Gallagher and Gem Archer playing Trini Lopez sigs and I love that Firebird headstock on a 335-ish guitar. Not sure about the diamond sound holes though.

But the lottery bass is a Brooks semisolid, with an EB2 style body, two piece bridge, Tbird headstock and I guess one Tbird pickup at the middle position. Maybe an idea for a mock up to see what it looks like.

Gibson Basses / Re: NBD Nonrev Tbird
« on: November 03, 2023, 09:52:18 AM »
I have the Nonrev for around a month now. I got it out of the case and I saw this. When I looked at an earlier pic it was already visible a bit.

To be clear: The bass lives in it's case in a room with a normal, steady temperature. The case lies flat, and there was nothing on it. It's not near a heating device. The bas is strung with factory strings in the normal EADG tuning, and I never tuned it in another way.

Gibson offered me to take it back and I'll get my money back, which I will accept. A pity. It was a demo model I bought at the artist sale, so cheaper than normal, and I won't buy a complete new one.

I love St. Vincent, but she is no Gilmour.

Having said that: Internet is going crazy over the list, so I guess the guys of RS are leaning back, watching the clicks, etc.
