Because - in my opinion - it sounds even better than the Triumph.
Not sure why. Maybe because the body is 5 mm thicker.

Make that the Les Paul Bass.

Not that it's going to happen; a short scale bass, with a guitar shape body and very low output pickups (that don't sound like a jazz bass) isn't what most bassists want. ;D

The LP lo-z pickup that is in the Triumph bass has coil taps to alter the tone. The Epi Casady instead got coil taps on the transformer. How about the LP Signature? Does it has coil taps in the pickup, which would mean the tone selector is just that - a tone selector? Or does it have the coil taps in the transformer same as the Epi Jack Casady bass?

Yes. It is the same concept as the JCS.

Being heard is not the problem. Keeping it tight without too much drive ( fuzzy blur) is the problem.

I have an early seventies V4B. My favorite amp for recording. It has a lovely sweet drive.
But on stage with a loud rock band it just isn't loud enough. You get beyond that sweet drive and it just distorts more.

The B40 cab that I bought with it is not the most efficient cab. It doesn't put out really deep and tight lows.

But more modern cabs like the Edens that I use bring out the magic of the V4B very well.

When I bought it, in the late nineties, nobody cared about the V4B. I didn't pay a lot of guilders back then.
Last few years they've become a bit of a hype with indie bands. Prices have been climbing ever since.

About four years ago I retired my V4B for the live gigs with the band. I only take it out a couple of times a year to rehearsals just for fun.
The Ampeg SVT II Pro that I had was absolutely loud enough. But it did not have that sweet sound of the V4B and most important, it was too heavy for my back. So I sold that one. And then I bought an Orange AD200 (mk1) as my main stage amp. It is 200 watts and that is enough for me. But soundwise it can't compete with the V4B...

At this very moment I have my V4B at the amp doctor's to have it serviced for the upcoming recordings for a new Superfloor album that we'll be recording in a few weeks.
I'm looking forward to hear that sweet and subtle drive again!
And I'll be using the "Ext. Amp" option as a Direct Out to the mixing console again. Works great!

Look at the other uploads on this guy's YT channel. Six ten-minute "Prog at the BBC" videos. That explains a lot about his muddled thinking.  :P

haha I noticed that too!

I'd say yes it is worth it. Unless you say you never use the tone pot.

While you're at it I'd replace the pots with decent CTS pots.

The bridge stud is long enough to keep your bridge in perfect place. It will never got enough lift to come out entirely.
If you really want to put it back down, take out the bridge post and gently push the insert down with the back of a screwdriver or something similar.

cheap tuners, cheap bridge.

Fender has been using cheap bridges since day one and it seems to work pretty good. And it doesn't seem to affect their pricing either. ;)
I'm not sure where you see those are cheap tuners? And if they are, does that disqualify them? The cheap tuners that I have on some of my basses hold their tuning as good as the
expensive ones. But I do think that Mr. Tee bass could use some -more expensive- lightweight tuners to help cure the neckdive (which I suspect it does have).

Adrian Macuszcyk is a reputed bass player and his bass guitars get pretty good reviews.

Welcome to the Outpost Victor!

The Gibson Lo-z has more clarity in the JCS.
In the Triumph sounds more dense.

Here's a short sample of the JCS with Gibson Lo-z, that I recorded after I had just built it in.

Hey David,

keep me/us posted on the progress you're making with the Lo-Z repro.
The pickup builder that I had found has withdrawn. He found out it is way over his head.
