i saw the residents in atlanta about ten years ago. if you ever see them live a video will do them no justice.

Sadly I never got to see them, it was one band I regret not seeing, another was Kraftwerk. You can hear their influence on people like Les Claypool.

i saw them twice in new zealand around 1988 i think with snake finger and once in london 2004 all great shows. and

Cool thread! I saw the live performance of the three-act "Cube E" [Buckaroo Blues, Black Barry, and The Baby King (Elvis)].  Mind blowing.  The audience seemed very "Japanese"- sitting silently, respectful, and maybe just freaked out on seeds.
