That does'nt look like an original Gibson bar bridge (deeper string anchor slots and the pole slots line up. Gibson is offset).

I'm not sure what you're seeing there. To me, it looks exactly like a second-design Gibson bar bridge. Only the first-design bar bridge had the offset mounting posts.

No.

Serial number does look questionable and the finish on the back of the neck and headstock isn't right.

I'm sure everything that comes out of Russia is legit.  ;D  Still, I can't say that this is a fake.

Exactly.  Any ideas how they got that bar bridge mounted on there?

Finish on the neck is a tough call.  My EB-4 looks similar because of the maple neck, not sure if this one is maple though.

Mine came yesterday.  Paid $479 (blem from GC) + tax, free shipping.  Looks good, only "blem" I see is scuffing on the pickguard, like from being tried out in a store or something.

The blue stain on the body is several shades darker than shown in the stock photos on the web, it looks almost black.  Good match on the 3-piece body though.  If I'd known it would be this dark, I may have picked cherry instead, it's fine though.  Some nice "flame" on the maple neck also, if you're into that sorta thing.

Needs a full setup, action is OK but check out that G-string saddle position.  Good lord!  Also look at the gig bag they sent it in.  Not sure what that one is good for... maybe a Stromberg?

Nice bass overall, can't complain much at that price.

Here's an interesting early-'70s EB-3 with the wrong bridge.  Can't figure out how they got it to fit on there.  Serial number font looks slightly wonky also.

GC also has a used one listed for $780.  That'll be a tough sell.

Just scored a blem from GC for $479,  I couldn't pass it up.  Hopefully it won't be too jacked up when it gets here.  $599 new on the President's Day sale.

Does it have a standard serial number?  Or any kind of odd stamping?

That's from an external search indexing the whole site. Go to the "basses" page. It ain't there.

It's right there in the "Inspired By Gibson" "Original Bass" tab.

On a possibly related note, Epi Vintage Pro T-Birds are starting to disappear and be clearanced.

They are?  Where?
