True, and he also covered others. My favorite Tony Joe song, originally done by Otis Redding.

I really like this one better than Otis.
I think he wrote Rainy Night in Georgia and a couple for Ray Charles also.

This is the one I know best - same recording. There is a great bass line on this that really moves...
