Definitely, he is even asking for local pickup in Milan. I wonder that there anybody that even is aware of what that bass is close to me. I have already one with an home made body and real pickups, neck, bridge and tuners and a 20/20 clone in my cellar waiting for pickup routing. Let’s wait!

Gibson Basses / A little tweaked 20/20 on Italian ebay

https://www.ebay.it/itm/Basso-Elettrico-Gibson-BB20-4-corde-modello-steinberger/323896022139?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649

She’s been really abused. The asked price is ridiculous for the bass conditions, considering that the original finish is gone on both body and neck, and upper register has been defretted. Also pickguard is not original.
The bass is a few km from my house. I proposed seller just 200 Eur, the value of pickups, tuners and bridge, but he did not accept.

I was just wondering why he didn’t add such basses to his collection. He clearly owns unusual basses as Hagstrom and Eko, and ones that I’ve never seen in his hands, as the EB1 or EB3.
I can’t believe that he has never meet a Starfire looking for vintage basses.

I just finished looking at the book. I noticed that at least one bass that is in my personal top 5 is not mentioned: the Guild Starfire. I have one in almost pristine conditions. And a De Armond too.
Also no mention of Grabbers, Rippers or Rd’s.
But I’ve the great book of Rob for that, maybe Mr.Lee should have bought a copy!

It looks that we end our long quest for a drummer for Snakebite. We had two concerts in June and two more planned in July, this is from our second in June

Overall length is 120 cm along the centerline, width, measured perpendicularly to the centerline is about 35 cm at the widest point, 32 at the bridge, distance of upper horn from centerline is 14 cm, lower horn 18. Just let me know if you need more

I’ve one of the first batch. It is a very nice bass. I will be able to take some measurements later

I have to say that my LK 4003 satisfies me. I replaced bridge and pickup cover but just for aesthetics. I rewired with two stacked vol and added tone adjustements to the 3 way switch. It’s a nice bass that plays well. Quite aggressive, with distortion at the neck pickups but it fine for what I play.
I have a real 4003 that is a very different beast but frankly when I am playing with her, I cannot avoid thinking .... and what’s about if they steal her while I am having third beer after the gig?

I really like the guitars. Basses are fine.... but the design of the guitars is really great!

Me and Luca were friend when I was studying at Pisa University. He was born in Pisa while I was coming from Southern Italy. It was 25 years ago.  I was already playing bass and we were introduced each other by common friends. We never played in the same band but we were going to each other concerts and had many evenings together talking about music and having a drink.
Then I moved to Milan for work and left Luca and many good friends in Pisa, but they went to my housefor concerts, sport events and so on..

I was really amazed when he went out with his records. He is in national newspapers here in Italy, that wonder how such a guy may play American music, being born under Pisa leaning tower.

No wonder for me, both grew up with such music in our ears. Give a try to Luca songs. I know that will be weird in Italian but they come from his heart

I may have to move to Italy to play Southern rock again.  You don't hear it much anymore in the South like you used to.  Most people are interested in pop, hip-hop and fake country music from Nashville.  Keep rockin', Snakebite.
Thanks!!!

I always loved southern rock. If you are interested to how much we like in Italy have a look to my friend site:

A great guy singing in Italian but in the truly southern way
