Gibson Basses / Re: 2020 20/20 Reissue, Where are you????

At least one 20/20 completed in 2020! And as most of 2020 things she revealed a nasty surprise. The bridge pickup looks faulty: only G and D strings make any sound. A and E are not audible. I know that EMG HB are a split coil under a humbucker  cover, so they are wired in parallel and one coil failed.

I've a 1967 Guild Starfire and I stringed initially with Thomastick flats. No sustain, maybe because of the high magnetic field of the bisonic pickup. I tried to lower the poles, but no luck. I changed to roundwound and she plays beautiful. Deep, resonant, a great bass. I presented her in this post

My 20/20 project is struck in Milan while I am waiting in Southern Italy that the mess passes.

Which string gauge do you use. Mine has some light Daddario, but I’m thinking to replace them

I bought one quite some time ago and still have it.  I swapped out the fundamental strings with flats and I like it better that way.
It's heavy.  I don't gig with it because my current band doesn't play "Jeremy"  I'm sure there are other uses for it, but it stays home.

No need to upgrade anything on this bass. My fingers definitely need to improve to manage three stings, but frankly the neck is not more difficult than a 5 strings bass

It looks sealed with some kind of epoxy resin. I will try hoping to see something

Yesterday I wired and had a nasty and strange surprise: everything was working fine but neck pickup was picking only G and D :o. Bridge one was ok. Both were measuring 55 K Ohm, but I know that there is a preamp and not wire only.
EMG HB is actually a split coil under a humbucker cover, but it looks that the coils are wired in parallel and one is dead

I've started working again on the 20/20 clone. After a long stop due to pain in my right arm, that I preserved to play, today I completed routing. I had no luck with pickguard, for some reason I cut always strange. Hope in the next days to assemble all the stuff and take some notes from it. Pictures to come soon
