Gibson Basses / Re: Music videos that feature Thunderbirds

Not in Seattle proper, there's no money to make here at any venue, most will give 45-60minutes and no pay before the next band is on stage. Once you leave town there's money to be made and more stage time. The local casinos are usually great places to play, they pay well, 1800.00 and up a night, plus rooms, and food. Most are fairly new with good FOH and support staff as well.

Holy crap.  We're playing in the wrong joints.

I agree with all of that.

New David Gilmour.  I don't love the song, but it's comforting to know Gilmour is still making new music.  Good solo at the end.

It was around July or so 50 years ago this year that I started playing the bass, my first was a Japanese EB-0 copy by Mateo, wish I still had it!
I'm not going to quit playing the bass, but there will come a time when I will not be able to play at the level needed, during the last set of a show in March my left hand cramped and froze up, it was frightening and quite difficult to continue.
I've had this happen on occasion.  It's really scary when you're playing live.  Sorry if I'm telling you something you already know, but make sure to stretch often and stay hydrated.

Those NYD reunion shows I thought were really great.

I got a hang with David Johansen for a bit once (someone gave both of us a ride home) and he's a super nice guy.

Agreed.  The logo is period-accurate.

Now I want to check out this documentary on them.  I remember Up With People from when I was younger, but just that it existed.  I don't remember anything about it.

Here's another fun documentary.  We used to go to this in the mid-'80s.  It was nuts.

That is so cool, Rob.   Love that bridge and tailpiece, too.  I think Tom Petersson needs something like that.

Too cute! And now Auntie Mark will explain to y'all how the 'B' in LGBTQ stands for ... biplane!

Not 'Bass'?

I once worked with a guy named Rich Cummings.  No one liked him, so we called him Dick.

I'm a fan of that finish. Probably no left-handed version, though.  Plus I don't find Fender comfortable.

I looked at it through my office window (NYC - Lower Manhattan) with a coworker's glasses.  It looked just like I remembered from 2017.  Totality would've been great. Here it was... cool.

I can't really speak with great authority on the matter.  However, after being around many devoted and knowledgeable country music fans for years. I can say this.  I'm under the impression that they get greatly thrilled when someone outside the genre tries their hand at country music.  Or maybe not.  Most of the ones I've been around fall under the maybe not category.  In fact, some of them get hostile, to be honest.  I tend to not say much.  I don't have a horse in this race.

Maybe they should've tried Western music instead.
