Mark,  Happy you like the pics of the bass! Hell it makes me happy to ! Way back when Jim had a red silk suit, more like polyester. I had my mom take me "downtown " to find such a suit, we did but there was no way she would spring for the cost !

Hi, I am a Gibson bass addict. Aside from from Paul most of my favorite bassist used Gibson. Jim Lea, John Entwhistle, Overend Watts, Dennis Dunaway. Gibsons just had the sound to me and they always seemed to have guitar like action, so easy to play. Fenders and the like seemed so pedestrian, Gibsons wild and exotic.

I have a 60's Thunderbird pup just waiting for it's new home ! The pickguard is also a original 60's. I will use one of my bridges and one of the tail pieces that Bill (drbassman)is having made. The bass will be finished in Polaris white.

OH MY GOD !  Say it ain't so. Seriously the Music Man has to go. Nothing wrong with a Fender.......................................took me over 30 years to say that but if the worked for Entwhistle and Jamerson there must be something to them. Here's my '74. As usual Uwe nice basses!

Some of you guys might remember this poor shared of a Thunderbird I bought off ebay for 10 bucks. I rebuilt the body and sent it off to Dolan's for a new neck. I'm stoked. Looked like this when I bought it.

Jim does seem to want to live as quite a life as possible, I'm still amazed that he surfaced and put his bass up as a pattern for mine and signed it, all in front of a camera !

I am so lucky to have this bass, a number of old guard Slade fans over in the UK helped make it happen, one in particular my buddy Stu R. The bass is signed by Jimmy himself !
