SWEET!  What do you have planned for the Headstock finish?

Thanks Kenny!

As for the headstock, I am thinking black or just stain and clearcoat.

I'd like to see black, more "vintage" and less busy.  The laminated neck viewed from the back would make a nice contrast to the front.

Thanks, I think you're correct!

Thanks Shadow!  I'm embarrassed to say that I was typing at my desk in my office and didn't even notice it!  To tell you how starved we are for news, the local radio station pre-empted 2 hours of Rush Limbaugh to talk to people who "felt the tremor."  Two hours of people calling in saying things like, "Yeah, I was sitting on the john and the toilet paper started to fall off the roll."  Captivating radio for sure!!!  :P  Not one bit of damage or disruption of daily activities, but we have to talk about it for hours!!!!!!  Crazy.

Never knew there was much of an issue over East...

I know my (late) mother slept through two semi-majors... once in Vancouver, 2nd in Auckland (NZ)

We have them in NY, but they tend to be mild.  This is the second one here in 18 years.  No big deal.  I was in the one in the Philippines in 68 and it knocked furniture over and shook me (while in my bed) across the room!  It hit around 4 AM, so most people were asleep.  That was an earthquake! Over 260 people were killed, most in an apartment building that collapsed in Manila.

:D  You're a funny guy!  You know it takes me forever to finish anything!  I actually will be doing some final sanding on it this weekend.  Then fret leveling and dressing.  After that, I'll start working on finishing the back, side and neck.  Than the top and headstock.  So, we're getting there!

Check this out, I figured out a new way to cut circular control cavity covers.  WARNING: If you try this at home, wear safety glasses and put double-sided tape under the area where you are cutting or the circle will fly out when the blade cuts through.  I had to chase one of them across the basement after it bounced off my chest!!!

Neat...

Maybe Terr would consider trading his EB1, plus your labour costs...? ;D

Those flycutters scare the bejezus out of me.  I used a 2 1/4" hole cutter with the center drill removed, matches up pretty well with a 2 1/8" Forstner for the body.  The cut circle stays in the cutter, you just push it out.  The cover is 1/8" masonite ala Danelectro, lacquered.  I got tired of waiting for my plastic to arrive.
