Odd LP shaped Guild

Looks like a Guild neck and bridge on a Les Paul body. The pickup routes are oddly positioned... Anybody see anything like this before?

It's got a nice Schaller 460 bridge on it at least.  Great bridges, just can't always go as low as others; a non-issue on archtops or any instrument with a significant neck set angle, but on a flat top it can be limiting.  The issue is, in addition to the girth of the thing itself, mostly the tailpiece's downward angle; removing that (it slides right out of a slot) and then using a trapeze would allow one to lower it more, but what I did on my EB3 is to just slide the tailpiece out of the slot a little bit so as to make the angle not quite so drastic - this allowed me to lower the bridge just enough for my liking.  The seller provided no pics of the action nor mention so beware.

I'm not a fan of Barts or figured maple but otherwise it's a pretty nice bass.

It looks like a Guild neck glued to an LP body of unknown origin.   Note the close ups of the neck joint.  Looks like it was coming apart and someone tried to fix or cover it up.  All in all, not a bad looking bass.  Looks like something I'd concoct.

Yep. Not a "custom Guild" by any stretch, just a real Guild neck glued to another body. This didn't leave the factory this way.

Ah, so it does. At first glance, I thought it was one of these:



This is one I'd have to see in person. Has a lot of potential. Assuming it's solid and the action is good, all I'd do is ditch the thumb rest and put some TB pups on there. Those necks are great.

I'm not disagreeing, but what is it about the neck joint specifically that make's y'all think that?  I looked at the pics, the one from the top right does look like it has some extra glue or filler in there, but the one from the left looks like that might have been a trick of the light on the body's roundover, because it looks really well done in that one.

I only see one closeup and it has obvious filler at the joint.

More important is that Guild never made such a model. It's a Gibson-style body with no Guild appointments.  It's a parts bass. Nothing wrong with that, but claiming it's a "custom Guild" is dishonest.
