Help please: Fenderbird Headstock Decal?
« on: August 01, 2008, 04:47:17 PM »
Hey Guys,

Hoping someone can help, and I'm riding another thread in TB looking http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=427751&highlight=Fenderbird+Decals....I have a couple of feelers to guys that do headstock decals, but no response yet.

Mike Lull is in the final stages of my Fenderbird and its set to go to the finish guy soon. I've decided to keep the headstock natural and I want a thermal-based decal that says "Fenderbird" where "Fender" usually is, and "1976" where "Jazz Bass" usually sits.  But I have no skills in the graphic arts department.  And I'm having a hard time finding someone who can do this - anybody know someone who can do this (and will communicate with me too?  :-[  )

Go to the Reranch board.  They can point you to someone in half a heartbeat.

There was nothing in the world
That I ever wanted more
Than to feel you deep in my heart
There was nothing in the world
That I ever wanted more
Than to never feel the breaking apart
All my pictures of you

Just out of curiosity... why 1976?

...Entwistle started using them in 1972/1973.

Here is my Fenderbird bass...
I used a Fender decal I bought off ebay.

Its a reference to it be being a Bicentennial TBird orignally, still has the bicent pg on there. I was going more for Buck Owens than the Ox on this one.

Thanks for the help guys, I'm on the road til Saturday, hopefully I'll get this solved by next week.

*Mark yours looks great btw!  good work*

You can make your own decals like I did with the right paper. http://www.beldecal.com/model_decals.cfm

I bought the Fender one off eBay and made the JAE BASS.

I've tried a few different guys but plankspanker101 on ebay does the best ones I've used and he more specifically does modified versions like "Fecker Jizz Bass" etc

Thanks for the help guys.   Bass VI's link worked, and it looks like Factory Guy is the guy!  Decal Joe is not currently taking on custom work at this time....

Believe me - I really appreciate you guys!

And Dc10 - you have the coolest Ox rig I've ever seen!  I hope you guys come to the Northwest sometime, I'd love to check out your show.
