Telecaster Basses by BaCH
« on: November 04, 2012, 08:43:07 AM »
Yesterday I had three BaCH Telecaster bass guitars in the house.

Two Honey Burst Telecasters

And one Creme Telecaster

I made a quick video to give you an impression of the sound.
It was a bit of a rush job because the bass was going to be picked up in ten minutes :-)

These brave little basses kick ass!

V Nice! I think I prefer the darker honey one. Great vid too! Lovely tight tone off the bucker.

Are these as low priced as their Tele guitars?

Yes. The Honeyburst Telecaster Bass is 250 euro.

And the Creme one is even cheaper: 223 euro

If I were in the market, it would be for the cream single coil with the traditional bridge.

I played the sample on my laptop (lousy speakers) but I admit I liked the sound of the double pickup model.

Here's what BaCH told me in their own cryptic English...

"Its switch works this way -
1. position - PU directly
2. position - tks to Tone pot You adjust a tone color and You get just this sound
3. position - a fix sound tks capacitor and resistor inside the bass   "

I played it a bit and it sounded like two different kind of treble cuts. Quite nice actually.

The single coil sounded great but both pickups on it sounded almost the same. I would think a humbucker would affect the sound much more than it did, is it wired differently than the usual series wiring when both on?

Yeah it sounds almost the same. But slightly more compressed.
I have no idea how it's wired exactly. Haven't looked under the hood...

Nope. They only have them in Creme. And in Butterscotch (sort of half transparent /opaque).

But I do think it would be good idea to introduce the Honeyburst Telecaster with just in single coil too!
