Me neither. Maybe there is a problem shipping to America.

The pickguard should be black.

I also discovered you needed two British cars, one to drive while fixing the other. I had a GT6 and an MGA, also at times an MGB or Spitfire. I held on to the MGA for about 30 years, only selling it a few years ago.

Oh, I did finally get a P bass a few months ago. I have been assimilated.

Cute little pop song. How exactly do you define "serious" musicians?

Death to all butt metal  ;D

That one is the best yet. I would lighten up the bass clef to a grey or silver to let the text stand out a bit more.

He did say he saw it. But that was on the 1st and it was supposed to air on the 5th. Time-tripping maybe?

Can't wait for the National Geographic special!

I predict that this thread will run at least 5 pages - God only knows what will be included along the way

Quite an accurate prediction. (from the second post in this thread)

The D130 cone is smooth, the D140 cone is ribbed.

Other Bass Brands / Re: What model should BaCH build next?
« on: June 22, 2009, 07:05:01 AM »
Well I was kind of reluctant to mention this given the general sensitivity around this particular brand/subject, but the "four-thousand-five" is a model that could also leverage that bridge, along with a readily available tailpiece (ala the Epi/Rogue/etc.. Hoffie clones):

That wouldn't fly. That particular company protects their designs fervently. The Bach web site had at one time a very nice all mahogany four thousand three clone for sale. Once word hit a particular forum it was pulled.

I would prefer a NR IV, but I'd buy an Embassy too.

I measured mine some time ago. I figure the case will have to have an interior length of 50".

Odd that the owner would spend $277,000 to remodel the place and not insure it.

Bass Amps & Effects / Re: Tube Testing - Offer of support

Radio Shack sold tubes under the "Life Time" brand, and guaranteed them for life. I worked at Radio Shack in the early Nineties and at that time you could still buy tubes from them. They had to be special ordered, of course.

That headstock is a copy of a 60's Ric 8 string. I think they only made a couple of them and I can't remember what model it was.

That would be a 4008, with the headstock nicknamed Potato Head.
