Title: what color pick guard would you...

ok picked up a used mia jazz black with maple board.   What color pick guard would you put on?
black / white / tortoise / other

Congrats. With a maple board, I'd choose white.

I'll probaly stay with the black it came with for now but I im thinking white would be cool.
This is the newest model year (2005) Fender I've ever owned and im  impressed at what a great bass it is, killer tone and thats comming from a P man note my 78P in my pic. Seems like fender is improving all the time.

I recently saw a black Fender with a green tort cover.  It was a lot cooler looking than I'd have thought.

I had a maple fretless black Precision in the late 70's, so I'd say white or mint but leaning towards white

I'd say black, I hate white pickguards, they look too cheesy.
