I have had two Climax basses, one L2000,and 1 L1000.I loved the way they played but the tone was just too processed.Especially the Climax model as its pretty much a poor mans stingray.Like the stingrays, the G&L models I played just didn't have that growl. For lack of a better explanation lol.I have had 6 pre ernie stingers. All where killer players. The tone got old however and there wasn't any changing it.The G&L's sounded a lot like the Musicmans.

My Beautiful Bach bird is a 3rd series I believe. Its all mahogany thick body it had no tummy cut(it does now)and it has a thin neck.In my opinion these are as close as it gets to a real one. Other than control cavity cut,its pretty close to my real 68.Even in sound. My 68 is alittle more throaty than the Bach wich has got a really nice punch to it.The new Gibsons are nice looking but they seem to be more of a novelty approach to the design.Dont get me wrong,Im probably gonna buy one anyway lol.If it wasn't for the weight factor,I would probably have a few Bachbirds They are as close as it gets right now./img]

I thought Cozys drumming on slide it in Kicks complete and total ass!His subtle kick drum changes alone in the title track are beyond tasteful. The Paice, bonham, thing has always been the inigma. To me its like comparing apples and oranges. Both tasty and appealing. No one grooves like Bonham! period!Ian is a flat out monster!Extremely fast and can swing like nobodys business. And for my last two cents worth.Geezer butler is far from sloppy. He has great feel and is very smooth as well. Its his choice of tone that kinda defeats the purpose.Oh and one Vote for Roger glover!
