It is tastefully done, but $4299 BIN for a fretless that's not a real Shadow seems unrealistic to me.

Yes, but a BIN price is for those who have deep pockets and don't mind paying top dollar to ensure they get what they want. He has a reserve, but the bidding started at $99 so he's clearly trying to see what he can get for it. My guess is the reserve will be around $3Gs. That's about what I'm asking for on my Shadow.

Yours is a real Shadow, though. Even if his reserve is around 3K, it's not the real deal.

A pre-Snowglo '98 WHT/reverse trim (white on white)... very attractive.

As cool as it gets: 1970 Azureglo (my favorite RIC color), checkerboard, gap tooth, full width crushed pearl inlays, plexi TRC...

Beauty! Checkerboard binding looks to be in surprisingly nice shape.

Shadow #ZK3210 (Nov. '86). Non-original pickguard (v63-style, wide and non-humped, without drilling new holes). $3,500 starting bid.

EDIT: Relisted with a $4,000 BIN.

I know where you can get one in better shape for $400 less. ;)

At least for some, I guess... Personally I can't refer to anything after 1980 as "vintage". Before 1940 it's "antique", after 1980 it's "used".

I know that in the 80's, a 20 year old guitar was "vintage". Now it just isn't. In 1982 Fender started producing a "1962 Vintage Reissue". They should have called them "Classic". I don't think now in 2013 they will make a "1993 Vintage Reissue".

Needs a maple fingerboard.  ;)

Great looking bass from my favorite era of Rickenbacker's. And my favorite model! Silly asking price though.
