Up on the stage at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom with the $ bass. Mutoid man was great to watch and it was good to see Corrosion of Conformity with their original singer again. Danzig hogged all the sound check time so we had to make do with a quick line check. Was a great experience.

Very cool! I used to live in Salem, MA, so I'd go up there sometimes.

Mutoid Man recorded their last album at God City Studio in Salem MA. If you've ever been to St. Vitus bar in Brooklyn you may have crossed paths with the bass player who ran the front of the house sound there. Nick Cageao played an Aria explorer bass and they're supposed to be making his own signature model of it coming soon. Marty Friedman, formerly of Megadeth dug them so much he guested a solo on the title track of their new album War Moans. Totally worth checking out.
Contrary to what James Bond says, a good Gibson should be stirred, not shaken.

Cool. I haven't yet made it to St. Vitus. Not sure that studio existed when I was in Salem. I moved back to NY in 2000.

If you're a fan of Diamond Head, they'll be a Saint Vitus Monday night.

They were a big influence on Metallica. You might recognize "Am I Evil?" or "Helpless"

Thanks. I'll look into them. Sad when the bands who influenced bands that play in arenas play small clubs.

By the way, where in Salem is God City? There's no address on their web site.

4stringer77

Not sure where God City is exactly. I just knew about them from the album credits. I wouldn't feel too bad for King Diamond, they've been brought up on stage with Metallica a few times and also played Ozzfest. Btw they didn't write Blitzkrieg, my mistake.

Wait, are you talking about King Diamond?  You said Diamond Head above.  I definitely know who King Diamond is!

Yes King Diamond, I got my diamonds mixed up  :o

Hah, cool.  Glad to know I'm not THAT out of touch, then.  Holy crap, surprising King Diamond is playing in such a small place, then!

"Yes King Diamond, I got my diamonds mixed up ..."

But judging from his "voice", King Diamond never had any in the first place. Diamonds I mean.

Eunuch of this, I made my point and had a ball.
We've taken too much for granted ... and all the time it had grown ...
From techno seeds we first planted ... evolved a mind of its own ...

Ouch. :)

Haha. When I first heard him I thought he was a joke (still do)
He sounds like a schizophrenic who keeps switching between Mickey Mouse and Scooby Doo.

I take it back, I was indeed talking about diamond head. That's the band who's tunes Metallica covered. King diamond is the guy who looks like a reject from Kiss.
