Any reason why this wouldn't work for the switch?

That should work.  Has an extra pole too - might be able to do something fun with that.  The only thing I'd doublecheck is the height of the switch assembly, to ensure it will fit that shallow control cavity.

Also, if it helps - there's a 3P4T rotaty at this place for cheap:

http://www.ctg123.com/

for replacement eb-3 switches (military surplus) have to shorten the shaft but comes with correct chicken head for gibby's 3p4t switch

25$ a pop

gotta call sales

EDIT part number is 3234J  and the non-shorting mallory number is 3134J EDIT

last time i called they had a couple of thousand of them, ask for denise gilcrest (i think she owns the place)

if you want to do a front panel mount, this one will work and is less expensive but it will NOT fit through a  1/4" of wood like an eb-3 mount. it will work on 1/8" plastic like a  les paul recording or a sb-450 mount, the contact info is on the plastic bag along with the part number. they also have non-shorting switches to reduce the "pop" when changing the chicken head knob to another setting.
