It's a Q80. I don't know about the Custom Shop Edition sticker but this (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200238964650) Q80 sold for $455 less than three weeks ago, it also had a Custom Shop Edition sticker and it was from a seller who also doesn't accept Paypal. Makes you wonder if it's the same bass and if there's something wrong.

It's not the same bass.  The Custom Shop decal is in different places on each bass.

They were all Custom Shop - a short term project to get that WRC design out at a time when the Gibson Custom shop wasn't as busy and as much a profit center as it is today. Possibly, after Herr Charvel fell out with Gibson, they wanted those out quickly, I've only seen 1987 ones, By 1988, Phil Jones was already working on the successor Q 90. The Q 80ies  are not any better or worse made than other mid eighties basses from Gibson.
