Thanks, Doc. The weather is very conducive to getting things done right now. 60s for lows, 80s for highs, and dry enough to paint with no problems. Just finished clear coating two necks and primering a body after prepping them this morning.
Even Bruce Johnson who makes scroll basses admits it doesn't take more than 40 hours to build one. My stuff is a lot less complicated so two five day weeks at 4 hrs per day is more than enough to build one of mine...including social media time to keep the ball rolling.
The guy I built this for sent it back to have the option we talked about when he originally ordered it.
I had routed the body for the option when I built it so it was pretty easy to mod. I used two Duncan Quarter pounders, they really sound like the original pups in my '67 Phantom which also have 1/4" magnets. Third pot is a 250k blend.
I tried to talk him into using all three pickups but he said that was too much to think about! Easily done with a push/pull switch on the volume pot.
