The hymn of the bass players
« on: August 26, 2013, 08:15:55 AM »
Guess you've all seen this piece on the Ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/THE-BASS-PLAYER-1972-Gibson-Guitar-Foldout-Ad-with-pyschedelic-cover-/251325948913?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a8431a3f1
Well, wouldn't it be possible to let that ad start a new life, by getting a child with Tommy Roe? We have the ground pattern ready, just waiting for take-off:
Now, who's to write the new lyrics? Any volunteers there?

You mean this thread is not about hymens or at least coated strings?  :-\

I like the song - sixties melancholia.
We've taken too much for granted ... and all the time it had grown ...
From techno seeds we first planted ... evolved a mind of its own ...

roe used to live in a 'swingles' apt. complex down the road from me in the sixties. roe, joe south and billy jo royal all lived in the same gereral area of atlanta.

I wore my 45 out damals ....... Billy Sherill song IIRC ....... But I'd say a hymn for bass players should have more oomph though ......  ;)
