40th Anniversary of Jimi's Death

I never took seriously the theory that Jimi Hendrix might have been murdered.  But this article presents some interesting facts.

ALL of that article rings true to me, having studied Hendrix A LOT over the years & A WHOLE LOT lately.
If you read between the lines of biographies of Jimi, the incidents described in the article are there & you have to at least WONDER about Michael Jeffrey's involvement.
The fact that he admitted it to the roadie pretty much clinches it, doesn't it?

The girl Jimi was staying with that fateful day--Monica Danneman---was a NUTCASE too!
She pulled Jimi away from a party that night at the home of wealthy London socialites that he didn't want to leave but he left with her after a 30 minute argument with her & apologies to the hosts.
She changed her story many times & is one of the reasons "accidental overdose" seems fishy.
She may have killed Jimi herself, or been threatened by Michael Jeffrey after he killed Jimi.

If you read between the lines of Room Full of Mirrors by Charles R. Cross published in 2005 after Cross did interviews with 325 people, half of whom had never been interviewed before--you'll also see the distinct possibility that Jimi's mother Lucille may have been killed by Jimi's father Al.
She was found in an alley by a bar they would meet in. She had just remarried & Al evidently couldn't handle it. She had a ruptured spleen, which means trauma killed her--an act of violence-----on top of her alcoholism & probable drug use (she had hepatitis).

Sad, sad stories are now coming to light....

I called the guy who was my best friend in high school & who was Best Man at my wedding in 1990 to talk about Hendrix on the 40th anniversary of his death & found out my ol' bud died of cancer last April.

Yeah, right.  And who can corroborate that claim? Nobody. That's because the roadie made it up, like all the rest of that crap.
 
Sad to say, Jimi Hendrix was a drug addict in bad shape. It was only a matter of time.

Billy Cox is saying he'll set the record straight on what's been said about Hendrix.  He says in this article he is writing a book.   That should be pretty interesting.

Uwe makes a good point - at that time, there were a lot of talented but troubled people who were moving and living 'way too fast.  Burnouts were inevitable, and of course there were a number of famous ones. 

It seems that artistic talent has often walked the edge of instability and poor judgment.  The results have historically been bad when the balance tips too far.

Ms. Jolie had drug probs tooo
Learning to play drums helped her get off 'em.
So did toughening up to do Lara Croft flicks!!
She learned drums cuz Timothy Hutton was a boyfriend.
She wanted to play in his garage band.

No, it's not Blazer, this is a guy who registered for no other purpose than to dredge up this 13 month old thread so he could attack my opinions and the opinions of others in the thread. He might have been able to contribute some facts but instead he decided to get personal. So I deleted his post and locked the thread. He then deleted his membership. I guess he showed us!

This guy could have joined up and started a new thread to tell us about his bass, without even referring to the old thread. There would have been some interest, because Overend Watts is probably better known here than elsewhere. But the giant chip on his shoulder got in the way.
