The Outpost Cafe / talkbass =no humility
« on: March 10, 2016, 07:40:19 AM »
i usually only go to talkbass when i want to be more annoyed than my usual state. i notice that almost no one there  can reply to the most banal thread with bragging about something they did or own. i find this attitude depressing and anger inducing at the same time. habitual bragging, 'blowhardness' are my least favorite personality traits. talkbass needs a big dose of humble pie to get them back on track. end of rant.

i had to post this before uwe or some other wag did. i could not find a good live version of four day creep so here this one again.

traditional jazz trio plays rush.

could not find good live version of tom sawyer so here is the band doing their jazz stuff. did this to show you mainly what they look like. btw, prog is the name of the album, not the genre they play. :o

The Bass Zone / Fodera, WTF.
« on: February 29, 2016, 08:40:53 AM »
got this from tb. my question is who buys these things. i have never seen them in a band situation or anywhere except you tube. may i see one one in a smooth jazz / fusion situation? luckily, i will never know. i do know the tb guys get all wet over these expensive basses. you can include
mtd in there. maybe a ritter, too. only 4k for this baby. ish.

http://fodera.com/monarch-p/

the tb guys seem to worship this kind of stuff.

The Outpost Cafe / Roundwound Strings Advice.
« on: February 22, 2016, 01:30:40 PM »
i have not used rounds for at least thirty years and find now i have a need for them. needless to say i have no idea what's going on in that market. i want cheap, medium ga. long scale strings. longevity is not an issue. any advice is welcomed and thanks in advance.
