Well it has been quite a long haul to get this bass up and running. This weekend I installed the nut and and bridge and was finaley able to string this bad boy up. Has a wonderful resonance and Dolan's neck plays fantastic ! Right now she's pup less I am going to send a '76 cover to Seymour Duncan for a 60's repro pup. In the mean time I need to route the control cavity and get some top coat on.
She started out like this.

Day-um! Good job man! If I send you a handful of splinters can you turn it back into a bass like you did that piece of driftwood?

Scott,
Its beautiful work, dare I say as usual! You should consider refins as part of what you offer in the Thunderbird Garage.

No the bass started out as a Thunderbird II at some point it lost it's neck and was converted ( rather crudely to a guitar) only to be smashed in a parking lot in a proper geetard player hissy fit. I won it on ebay for the mighty sum of 10 bucks. I rebuilt the body and sent it to Michael Dolan for a new neck. This has taken 2-3 years but I'm getting there.
