i drank 5 or 6 diet cokes a day for years. real coke is too sweet. lately my doctor said it is bad for your kidneys, of which i have only one.

I read an article a while back that said simply lowerering your total intake by 100 calories a day will drop 10 pounds in a years time - that's giving up just one can of Coke - in my case Dr. Pepper.  Summertime is brutal down here and those damn $1.00 drinks at McDonald's really screw me up.  I've started keeping a small cooler in my van and packing two or three bottles of water - I hit Subway more and drink my water - I've dropped a few pounds and saved some $$

As for diet drinks - blech!!   I hate the taste, and, no, I never got "used" to it either.   Plus, they really screw with your metabolism and the chemical angle is more than enough to scare me away - if the taste hadn't already

Ahh... a weakness is the veggie footlong with everything - has a detrimental effect to my digestive system but lets not go there...

I try and do some typing every morning before work, an hour (or two if I'm lucky - I don't sleep much), and the coffee tends to be strong, black, and sugar free - I'm usually on the road for 0730... not today as they've forgotten to let me know what I'm doing and there's usually no one in until 0830... aww shucks... I eat a sandwich for breakfast (on route to first job) with a cup of camomile tea... 3 pieces of fruit during the day, usually later... a coffee during my break with another 30 minutes of PC time... evening meal when I get home and beverage is usually redbush tea... presently enjoying a glass of merlot to round off a public holiday weekend... 36 hours of typing...

I don't drink much soda anymore, but if I do it's usually Coke Zero. It tastes kinda like a less sweet Coke to my tastebuds. I drink more water or iced tea if I am eating out (unless alcohol is involved  ). I am trying to slim down again, it just gets harder with age.
