OK, here's a genuine Gibson bass question. Which gig bags would fit a T-Bird? I need a case for my restored NR. I know I'll probably never find a real one from the 60's so I'm thinking gig bag for now. I know you know.
-
I use a BC Warlock gig bag for mine and fits fine.
-
Usually I would be dead set against a bag for a bird but your maple necked bird should be fine in one.
-
I found a decently padded Road Runner bag at GC that fits.
-
The Ritter shape TB Rev bags fit the NR snugly - all you have to do is turn the NR on its face (strings down) when putting it in - voilĂ , the bass doesn't care or mind.

Uwe
and does this fit an RD artist too by any chance?
-
Yes, you don't even have to turn it face down for that - actually fits an RD great, use it all the time.

Thanks guys. Since I now have two NR TBs without cases, I figured bags would be fine for storage. I don't think I'll be taking the 60s NR restoration out too much after all the work I put into it, but the all-maple NR is going to get out a lot if it sounds half as good as I think it will. In fact, it will be finished today.....if I can find some strings to put on it!

It's made for the NR body, but not sure about it fitting the headstock. There is another auction for an Epi Goth T-bird and it has a B C Rich bag like John mentioned.

Length is the problem :-[ :-[ :-[ At least that's what I've told.....
Someone pointed me at the Warwick Rockbag and the dimensions are very generous. Of course I never found an online retailer that had one :(
-
I'm gonna check with my local shop first to see what they have. I'd love to try one before buying.
-
How about a Rok Sak? They have an actual TB model.

"Rok Sak" - brilliant name!

Check these guys out, custom cases. http://www.maxlinemusiccases.com/guitarcases.html

Man, those bullet-style cases are massive. I would really prefer an old fashioned wood case, but the all of the custom guys want $300 plus and I'm ready to drop that kinda money on a case! Yet........

I ordered a Rok Sak for my TB. I'll report on it when it comes in.
