Uwe simply must have this one!  Does he collect for whammy bars? ;D

Regardless the bass looks very clean and the price is still right.

With that many bids, I don't think it will stay that low.

Some of the other items he's put up look interesting and he says there's more to come.

The RD is a perfect match for the Kahler. With its active electronics, infanate sustain & crazy harmonics, they work very well together.

Oh man would I would love to adopt that RD, but I'm trying to thin the herd as it is.

Did you all (or ya'll, for our Texas contingent; I'm a recovering Houstonian and still fluent) notice that luscious Carvin doubleneck he also has up?  OMG (http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k125/0chromium0/forums/smilies/bananadead3.gif) (http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k125/0chromium0/forums/smilies/msnsmack.gif) (http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k125/0chromium0/forums/smilies/badgerslayer.gif) (http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k125/0chromium0/forums/smilies/ambulance.gif)

You betcha. That one has a lot of bids too. I don't think that will go as high as the Gibson, though.

Uwe has a V Bass (not Flying V) with that little Kahler gadget and the bass is currently at the luthier to receive that type pf finish here:

When in Rome do as the Romans and a Kahler on a bass puts you firmly and squarely in that type of "Rome". Besides I thought the Fenderesque body shape of the V Bass would benefit from that fin. Needless to say, I'll confront you with the results, whether you like them or not!

I'm about to sell my Steinberger double neck and have been dreaming of one with the guitar on TOP like that Carvin. Really nice, but those toggle switches would be totally in the way when playing the bass. Have to jettison all that mumbo jumbo pronto!

31 bids and $1873.86 (odd figure)

Uwe... something concerns me here...

It's a mid-life crisis thing I reckon...

I'm gonna have to tequila something to compensate... ;D

I see that he's been given a negative feedback on another auction because the overseas buyer had to pay excessive postage -- this despite the fact that he gave the dimensions and weight and instructed overseas buyers to go to USPS to figure their postage costs. How on earth is that the seller's fault?  ???

Seller has over 1600 positives and never a negative under his regular identity, and some imbecile gives him an undeserved negative. Buyers like that should be banned from eBay.  >:(

How on earth is that the seller's fault?  ???

I looked at the guy that left that - with a whopping six transactions to his name - and he had left similar feedback for others:

"slow to arrive" (response was WAS SHIPPED DAY AFTER PAYMENT. ROYAL MAILS FAULT NOT MINE)
"initial confusion over 4/5 string version but got the right one eventually"
"delivery took two weeks - uses driver with little consideration for the goods"

What is messed up is that neutrals and negatives weigh in against the seller as far as final value fees are concerned.  For a while there I was an "Ebay Power Seller", and was getting a 20% "discount" for perfect transaction history.  Luckily, I sell mostly direct now and don't have to pay them for what was essentially product marketing.

If I saw this guy coming (assuming he didn't snipe it at the end), I would a) cancel his bid (make up some bs reason - no reply when attempted contact), and b) add him to my blocked bidders list.  Not sure how cancelling the bid would play out (haven't had to do that yet), but life's too short to deal with those types, especially when the warning signs are there...

I have over 800 perfect feedbacks and if I got one like that, it wouldn't bother me long.  Plenty of positives to balance out the individual idiot...and you KNOW that sooner or later you will do business with one. Chromium's comments are right on target - but I don't sell much, so I'm not getting any discounts anyway.

I think it is a cool idea. Let us see the final.

$1800 for a kahlered bass. I'm surprised. Who ever got it got a bass match made in heaven though.
