Pixar has done it again... (May movie wrap up)
« on: June 09, 2009, 09:55:29 AM »
I know that this past weekend was the second weekend for Up and I saw it last weekend but I got distracted. Sitting here in class I decided to do something a little productive and simply say that Up was great. It might be Pixar's darkest movie in a way because it does deal with the death of someone. I can't type much because I am on my iPhone but I did see it in 3D. The 3D that pixar used was simple there for perspective and to give the viewer the depth to make them feel even more like they are in the movie. Only once I noticed an object coming out of the screen like a lot of 3D movies do.

When I get a chance, I will add Terminator Salvation and NIght at the museum 2.

Up is the #1 movie now. The trailer looks good.
May take my daughter to see it...

Terminator 4 was AWESOME! Highly recommended.
Moon Bloodgood is HOT in it.

I'm reading a book on Dillinger, getting psyched for Public Enemies July 1st.
Depp plays Dillinger.

I worked on Public Enemies last year. They shot a LOT of video (it was shot on HD). There were two to three guys working one after the other around the clock six days a week to keep up with dailies coming in, where most movies use one shift a day to transfer what they shoot. This went on for months (as opposed to 6-8 weeks)... Lost of very cool shots though. I haven't seen any of it cut together but it did look like it would be a good movie.

I love the way they did the dog. I want to see it but no one else wants to go see it.

Not out here yet... they have five more in production...!
The random mind of a Silver Surfer...
If research was easy, it wouldn't need doing...
Staring at that event horizon is a dirty job, but someone has to do it; something's going to come back out of it one day...

Saw UP 3D last night & it is WILD! Digital 3D is the FUTURE here NOW!
The glasses they give you ain't the old cardboard with blue & red lenses, they're clear lenses with black plastic frames!
Cost is $14.50 & well worth it!

The 3d previews were amazing too...& there was a cute short cartoon in Digital 3D tooo

Still have not seen it, but I heard it was Pixar's first  movie not to meet expectations sales wise.

I think you should just go see it, it is a good film. I can see how it might not have gotten to their expectations with the movie being a little bit different from what they normally do.

I have thought highly of Pixar for some time but the article I posted earlier today just adds to it. They didn't do it for the press or anything, they simply did it because they have a heart. It shows especially because they would not comment on the matter.

Yes! Very touching story. That little girl hopefully went UP to heaven.

Be sure to see UP in 3D in a theater! It's AWESOME!
