Truth of the matter is that the EB-750 is the bass that was almost great. If they had done away with the sustain block and given it some natural passive electronics with perhaps just a piezo in addition, then Gibson might habe been really on to something.
You do have a mighty fine luthier, Uwe. I'm sure he could whip that sunburst into shape exactly as you describe...
