Or maybe a pick up or cover from a EB-copy?

Yeah, why not have both...

I love this Gibson advertisement quote. You see a couple of nice SGs, LPs and 335s and they state:

'Why have one? Rock 'n roll just isn;t about monogamy.'

Or something like that;)

I love Coronados, but to be honest I like the normal  'reversed body' Mosrites better.

I agree with Uwe:

I love albums!

Listening to Sergeant Pepper is like a journey and so is Tommy. If a random song from Tommy comes by at my Creative Zen it just doesn't work... And with albums there's the sleeve notes, the sleeve itself. I remember my early teens, listening to soul and asking myself who this Cropper guy was who wrote songs with Otis. The same with Goffin/King, which brought me to Tapestry (*), and Shuman/Pomus.

(*) There are still dozens of albums I wanna buy, but sometimes I have a black out in a record store. I keep a list in my computer, but of course I'll always forget it. That same thing happened some years ago when I was in a record store with a colleague. We decided to go for a beer and the moment we walked into the pub (next door to the record store) I remembered Tapestry by Carole King. Not even a minute later the whole album started. After the third song i ordered a second beer and I asked the bar lady if she heard me talking 'bout Tapestry. She didn't, so it was sheer coincidence.
I immediately went to the store to buy Tapestry, but it wasn't in stock.
The next day I visited the same store and Tapestry just came in.

Harry Mulisch-like coincidence as we call it in The Netherlands.

About albums:
Q magazine featured an article about U2. The Edge and Bono, both multi-millionaires of course, argued day after day about the right track listing of the new album. They both tried to win the opinion of the journalist and they fought like little children about the track listing. When Q reviewed the album they stated, like always: Download track 1, 3, 6 and 8. They're best.

I hate that, cos some songs grow on you.

Thanks Uwe!

I'm in love with this model since I saw the first pics appearing in a magazine. But my girlfriend... I dunno. It seems she doesn't like it:( I'll just have to buy her one I guess.... problem is she earns a lot more money than I do;)

I love Mosrites. A friend of mine in Holland bought one fairly cheap in the US of A.

But what about this special model? Pics please?

The Last of The V8 Interceptors. That sounds almost as nice as Gretsch Billy Bo Jupiter Thunderbird Bass:)

The Mad Max Box is at discount at a local store. I'm gonna buy that!

Personally I don't like the looks of the big pickguard SGs. I prefer the ones with the smaller guards, like the SG RI bass, which, I believe, are called '61 reissue.

Our former guitar player had the normal big guarded one and I know its pick ups have a higher output than the '61, but it just sounded like... ... an SG.

This wihite one with white guard is nice.

I love Entwistle's quote about those three pick up SG's: 'Shame there wasn't room for a fourth pick up.'

@ Hollowbody: Nice basses. Nice sunburst on the Epi. Is that original?

Like yer EB0, but I'm satisfied with my horned Gibsons.

@ Dr. Bassman: If you wanna sell your Harmony though....;)

Thanks, good to know!

I used to have another 3000 (and a 3001) which i bought for 450 dollars. The dollar was a lot more expensive then. Now that would be 300 euros but that time it was 600. i sold it for that amount too.

:)

Thanks. I don't know nothing about no guitars (to use a real American triple negation), so thanks for the explanation of the 490T also being in normal SGs.

I'm reading a splendid book by sixties producer Joe Boyd, which I can recommend to anyone. He tells about a German record guy who was send from London to New York to open a US branche of a record company there. At the press conference they guy said:
'I always wanted to live in New York since the day I saw the skyline through the periscope of my U-boat.'

:D

I believe the book is called 'White Bicycles' in English.

And another nice one I read on another forum:

I had the great pleasure of meeting THE man back in '88 at the London Bass weekend, He came across as a really approachable, easy going bloke.
I asked him ''what do you put your speed & dexterity down to?''
He thought for a moment & in that deep gravelly voice replied ''Cocaine!!'' with a wink!

Talking about music scene books. I love this Joe Boyd book. I have lots of musical books with dozens of biographies of British sixties bands, Who/Moon/Daltrey/Pete, Weller, Band, Small Faces, Kinks, Oasis, Beatles, etc.

My favourites:

- 17 Watts by Mo Foster. I'll post some quotes soon!
- All The Rage by Ian 'Mac' McLagan of The Small Faces, The Faces, Stones, Dylan, ...

My girlfriend loves this guitar:

And it's real cheap. Anybody any experiences with this one? Uwe: I believe your son has the V-version of this guitar? What about the pick ups? Hot or vintage sounding?
