My first encounter with Harvey Brooks was Electric Flag. I like this guy ;D

You mean Harvey Goldstein ?  :mrgreen: Yup, same here .... He was one of Al Kooper's go-to-guys when they both tried to carve out a living as studio hands in NY in the early 60s. With the Flag ( and Supersession for that matter ) I thought he sounded a bit too conservative in his lines but I must admit time has proved him right and today I'll take his musical views over those of at least 75% of the more adventurous players of that era .......

Thanks, Nofi! Most interesting. Really liked Brooks when I heard him in the 60's. His hardswinging way of playing was influential to me. Thanks again!

I used to feel the same way, and thought he was a bit conservative. He is one of those players who always seems to do something that fits just right,not particularly flashy, just always fits. He tends to sacrifice his own glory for the greater good of the song. It took me several years to figure this kind of thing out. Make no mistake though, this guy has plenty of juice to light it up when the situation presents itself ;D.
