I have always been gassed by such things. I would really buy it if I were in Houston, I think that the price is very good

The blue ones crack me up because the remind me of '70s shower curtains or patio furniture patterns.  :)

I'm still recovering from a near-terminal paisley overdose in the 60's.   :-\

My dad always wore paisley ties so I like it - if they had blue paisley I would probably have sprung for one by now...

I wear paisley shirts very often when playing. I really like paisley and floral basses.

What was the finish called on the blue floral basses?

Blue Flower is what it was called. I think they're groovy! Jim, let us know if you ever want to sell yours.

The link to the bass is active again. Any of you guys is close enough to Houston and willing to help me in buying and shipping to Italy? I was used to go to Houston for work (and incidentally buying basses. I bought a MM Stingray at GC and a Ric 4003 at Fuller's) but I have not any travel planned for now. I will be happy to pay for gas and your time.

Those who have them generally seem to think they're pretty darn good basses.

There's one quite cheap in a shop in Amsterdam which I like. I had a Japanese one, which was dead. Worst bass I ever owned. (A Chinese Fender was the most resonant Fender I ever owned!)

Fixed it for you, I bought it this morning. I love the sound, the single coil pickup is more "in your face" than a split-P. The bass felt very good in my hands and the paisley finish looks even better up close, I just had to take it home with me.  :)

I cannot believe that I lost this. May I ask how much?

It was €795. I had a day off today so I had some more time to get acquainted with it, I am liking it more and more. :)

They are very well built bass and I think they are pretty cool. I'd like to have one someday but it's not high on my wish list.

In my quest for a Pink Paisley bass I have found this site: www.wrapedge.com

The pink paisley looks a faithful reproduction of the original Fender design. Any of you has any experience with this wrapping sheets?  Is the application as easy as they say?

A few months ago at the TDPRI someone asked the same question, and one person responded that it was nowhere near as easy as they claim, and that some of the ink wiped off. He wound up throwing it away. Regardless of how easy or hard, the ink wiping off is just not acceptable.

That's just one user's opinion, of course. Maybe others have had better results.

The website is SO slow that I don't have time to work through it (not a good sign), but if they don't put a hard layer of lacquer over any surface treatment, don't waste time on it.  Also, if you're really going to "wrap" wround the sides of a bass, you better be using a stretchable material to do so.  IIRC he paisley basses only had the graphics on the flat surface of the top, not wrapped around the sides.

Thanks for the replies. I found the discussion at TDPRI and there are various opinions, some suggested that the application was not correct, or that a lower quality material was used.  Yes I will use only on front and back, as Fender did.
