Probably garbage but I can't take my eyes off this Galanti bass.

The guy who bought the same bass twice — first in 1977 and again in 2023

I like the looks of it. Handrest, bridge, pickup casings, switches, knobs.

What the heck is that protruding up off the neck pickup beside the E string?

Please keep your eyes open for my stolen 1973 Burgundyglo Rickenbacker 4001 Serial # MD1582. It was stolen in November of 2006. Reward for its return. Thx!

Looks like a 90-degree tab held in place by a pickup screw.  Must be a owner-added thumbrest.  Looks easily removable.

I haven't seen that model before, but Galantis aren't garbage at all. They are (or were) an accordion manufacturer and at one time they sold a lot of accordions in the US. They only made guitars and basses for a few years, and I'd say they were at least the same quality level as Eko and Vox.

If you bought it, one issue might be scarce replacement parts if you ever needed  them.

Is that a thumbwheel control on the treble side of the bridge there?  I'd guess height adjustment , but can't see how that would work on that monster.
