Someone's Facebook profile says he's headed to Chicago. Could it be?...  :-X

gweimer

Mmmmm...could be.  I was headed there anyway, but the timing is perfect, since we just got our homebuyer's tax refund.  And my daughter is about 15 minutes from where Mark lives.   I think you can guess the rest...

That Embassy was Gary's bass for 20 years (and mine for 7). It's on its way home now.

Is he planning to stop in Kalamazoo?  ;D

No, but I can tell you that the friendliest women I ever met were in Battle Creek.

I used this last friday with the stereobasses (neck pickup to Hiwatt DR103 and EBS CL2x12" cab, bridge to Vox AC50 head and Vox 2x12" cab) and it sounded fabulous. I just have to hope that the Vox's owner will let me loan it again in the future.;) Sorry for the grainy pic.

I'm not criticizing ANYone's rig...I'm just surprised how immune to amp-enticement I have become after going with lightweight Genz-Benz gear.   ;D

With the 12-string bass I have had to accept that it needs that extra effort which means multiple and preferrably tube amps. I also come from the school that the looks mean a lot too which usually means weight and sweating.;)

Yeah , I've whittled my music store salesman interrogations down to two questions. "How many watts and what does it weigh?" The rest of the stuff I'll figure out ;D

I've kinda do the same thing inasmuch as I run the Ampeg SVP-PRO preamp into Class D amps. Had to after my hernia.  :-[   Actually sounds better.
