Priced in the same relatively low price range as the "faded worn cherry" series. This one is called faded too but it doesn't show any open grain. So they did fill the pores obviously.
-
No idea why good old TV yellow is now all of the sudden canary yellow. If I had a bass like that, I'd only play "Mustard Sally" with it all day long.
-
It's a cutie! Even if TV yellow wouldn't look good on me, I still like it. One of these days I'll cave in and buy a short scale bass again ;D
-
The pores aren't filled (except for thick paint), enlarge and look closely.
In some of the shots it does look like TV, in a couple of them it looks brighter. Hard to tell. I've seen the faded doublecut Special guitar in a finish that looks like this, in person it's brighter than TV.
-
It does look faded or almost like it was finished without final wet sanding and buffing (which probably is the case here). Nice color though.
-
I like it very much! And of course it isn't a SG Standard, but a SG Reissue. Dots.

For 2009, the SG Reissue name is gone. The dot neck/unfilled pores version is now the "SG Standard Bass Faded." Until they change their mind again.

... or Todd Rundgren's "Yello, It's Me"

Love the way that looks, might even be better with all black pickups and hardware.
In a related note: check these out!

I'm sure that will be a popular upgrade here.

And two extra strings and a shorter neck you mean?

Nope as a bass. Why would you think otherwise?

Because of four pictures I saw just four posts ago...
-
If its from the Japan Color series, coral pink, baby blue (jules) & yellow, I have seen other pictures where the yellow is a brighter "Banana Yellow".

Well I posted those because I came across them on the Gibson site and since we were talking about the SG I figured that I could show those as well.
As for the attraction. I guess I'm a bit biased towards natural colored SG's with maple necks...
