Are you experiencing severe neck diving problems? That other forum has the solution. Can I say "brilliant" sarcastic enough? :D

whatever works, I guess, but I would never add any of those extenders to any of my basses.

At least Leon Wilkeson had a valid reason for doing something like this.

The contraption with the big metal plate mounted to the neckplate looks like an effective way to cut off your thumb while playing high the neck.

The Frankenstein Fenderbird with the pencil  sticking out of the upper horn is the ugliest thing I've ever seen.

It reminded me of one of these:

I've restrained myself in commenting on that pencil bass on TB, he posts it all the time.  Great pic, Denis!  There's a reason that thing lives at the bottom of the ocean!

Surprised someone hasn't just put a strap button into the neck at the 12th fret.

Seriously if neck dive bothers you so much, move the button to the back of the headstock ( I think its called the Hootenany Button or something similar IIRC) like on 57- circa 62 Fenders.  But that would make you look foolish...as opposed to having a pencil sticking out of your bass body with a strap on the end.
