Really nice condition. I doubt he'll get his starting bid with the DiMarzio, but at least it's not routed.

Nice bass, but IMO he's a few hundred too high with the mudbucker missing.

The EB4-L pickup was mudbucker shaped but it was very different inside. Since few of them were made, it would be much harder to find an original.

I do happen to have a NOS stick shift selector for a EB4L :)

Why did they stop doing the bevels at the top and bottom of the body? The plank EB's just don't look right to me without the bevel.

Maybe that might have something to do with the fact that it's a longscale bass? The bridge is so close to the edge that there's no room for a large bevelled edge at the bottom.

Short scales also lost the bevel when the mudbucker was moved away from the neck.

Yes, great to see one almost as red as it should be. Seeing as so many people took out their EB4 pups, it's a wonder they don't come up that often (I can't recall ever seeing one  ??? )

No good reason. Just an unfortunate design change.

Amen.  I think that was an important visual element in the originals.  It's one reason I thought the bass in the "Bash Gibson" thread looked so cheap. IMO a rout/bevel along the edge of the body would have added a lot to its visual appeal.
