The Soviet solution to neck dive

70s Tonika bass, the iconic Soviet design. Crappy and butt ugly, but it features a telescopic strap button. How come no one markets a modern version of this clever little gizmo?

The guy who bought the same bass twice — first in 1977 and again in 2023

As a bonus, it's an antenna that picks up Radio Free Europe broadcasts. ;D

A previous owner of my Alembic had a strap pin extension thing on it, but it wasn't retractable as far as I know.

Can imagine first song the young Russian once played on that bass: Duh-duh, duh-duh, duh-duh-du.... It's a hard world to get a break in, all the good things have been taken... But girl, there are ways to make certain things pay, Though I'm dressed in these rags I'll wear sable some day.... It's my life and I....
And then, to complete his act: Wipe out! Ka-boom!

If it didn't go down after a few hours then you should have consulted a doctor.

Like a lot of Russian inventions

it seems practical and durable.
