Title: The bizarre life of being in a tribute band: Episode #26
Post by: Aussie Mark on January 19, 2012, 05:01:42 PM
My Stones tribute band will be performing two songs live on a nationally televised daytime TV current affairs/variety show in July as part of a feature on Mick Jagger's birthday.  I hope the TV show's makeup person is outstanding at their job - this old fat guy will need it!   :o

Will you be appearing as "The beast of burden?"   ;)

Cool news!  Let us know if we can catch it on YouTUbe!

Definitely! The show is broadcast in HD, so I'll record it on my Tivo and then edit it for uploading to YouTube.

I'd have thought you'd be an easy makeup job compared to any of the gnarled old wrinklies in the real Stones.

This was from NME in the early eighties... to use a bad quote, "Isn't it ironic, don't you think..."

Reality imitating art...? Ray Lowry is long-gone now but his art even made it onto LP covers from the time and he was very linked with the Clash at the time - anarchy was his outlook on life - kept every one I found... ;)
