God Bless the Ramones!
I saw them on their very first Chicago appearance. It was at Danny Seraphine's Beginnings club out in the suburbs. The Ramones were genius on their first national tour. To ensure a packed house everywhere they played, they hauled 3 busloads of fans with them, and brought film crews. Every Chicago band that wasn't playing that Monday night was lined up on the back wall. The Ramones were one of the most entertaining and fun shows I've ever seen, even when the "Gabba Gabba Hey" sign disappeared behind the stage curtain when they raised it up too high.
