Pilgrim:
The only one of those which appeals to me is the Mercedes Stirling Moss model. I have seen other pix of it and I really think they captured some of the spirit of the '55 300SL.  Also, Moss is my top driving hero.  The man was an absolute MASTER.

I would love to have the Ascari in my garage. For now, I'm making do with an MR2.

I had to go to a wedding last weekend and saw a sign for the Studebaker Museum in Indiana and thought about you guys. I also saw the Studebaker pickup truck again. Have to get a picture of it.

Here's an interesting fact I found on the Studebaker family website:
Contrary to popular belief, Studebaker did not go bankrupt. It produced many other products, and was a profitable company. It eventually merged with Worthington Industries, which merged with McGraw-Edison, which was taken over by Cooper Industries. Cooper still owns the rights to the Studebaker nameplate, but has said that it has "no plans to use it in the foreseeable future."

eb2:
The company that developed the Humvee was - tangentally - an offshoot of Studebaker.  The old Studebaker testing track and facility was spun off, and that is where the Hummer was developed.  It is a stretch, but still there.
