If someone here buys it, I have a NOS Gibson headstock overlay (not drilled for tuning posts).
The guy who bought the same bass twice — first in 1977 and again in 2023

Maho wings were indeed never available outside of prototypes, interesting.

I noticed Greatdealz also got the 6 way rotary switch available, aren't many of you looking for those?

The only problem I see is it does not look like mahogany. Look close at the grain, its not an open grain like mahogany.

Uwe has that extra board & pickups his luthier certainly could make a mahogany bird from this.

Those wings are open grain, and besides, walnut is open grain too.

It's not the more familiar flatsawn mahogany pattern, but it could very well be. Hard to say since the colors vary from one pic to another. Walnut usually darkens more than that naturally.

Scratchplate is for a guitar...

It would be interesting to build one with a single pup a-la T'Bird II - nice clean (ish) body to work with...

I'm still two projects behind and no funds, so...

I certainly wouldn't put the original electronics in. And if you want to go active at all, I think I'd go for the EBMM Stingray electronics and pup or some Seymour Duncan replacement set. One Stingray bucker in the sweet spot and off you go.

A pair of Thunderbuckers would go nicely in that.
Cheers
