Anybody got any idea how much this body is worth, or how high she might go, so I can definitely count myself in or out... I know my budget...

Someone in the UK has declared an interest that is not me... they have now asked for cost to uk...

Still curious what anyone thinks this is genuinly worth, excluding bidding wars, which I would not be interested in... PM if you would rather not post as if I am silly enough to bid I need to know what I would be getting myself in for... remember that I have not bought an instrument since 1987

Since it is probably non chambered, I would only spend $200 US tops

Bill, if you have a definite use for this let me know and I'll keep out of it...

I should concentrate on what I have yet to finish, anyway...  ;)

got an answer for a BIN but i think the price is too high on a BIN ... "Dear cw644, Are you ok at 275$ for a bin ? thanks, - djerba_camel".

i think i'll tell him (her) that i wanted to post a BIN price in a forum i am a member of. a person should be able to get it for a lot less at auction ... i'm a thinkin anyway. it is finished and does have some trim (forgot what it is called) around the body though and is a set neck. it does not appear to have a reserve ... all in all might not be a bad deal but one would have to be commited to finishing it.
I can be true to you sweety until I find a nice medium scale with great breasts. ... CW

If this is a Gibson body, it appears to the Non chambered three point bridge version, which means it could be a 10 pound+ body.

How kind of you to point that out!

Bill could easily take care of chambering and splicing it back together. In fact, I'd like to see pics of that project!

The simple answer is that there are holes in the body...    ;D

Do a Google Images search for chambered guitar body, you'll see a few examples.

That's got a lot of chambering, not all are done that way. Many have a lot of solid wood left.

We live and learn... now I think things are falling into place - this is similar to Bill's Rickie project... a not hollow hollow body, but not in the LP's case...

Excuse the ignorance on this, Dave, et al... Is there any advantage apart from weight...? I presume this can cause some "resonance" to occur to the sound...
