Here she is.  Just like my old 63 except with blocks.  A real beauty and plays really nice.  Now, my Fender GAS is quelled! Ah, nostalgia......... :P

Very nice.

LOL Dave, you know me well!  I do have to admit that I am feeling good about the basses I've unloaded and then acquired.  Now I've got to get busy and get ready for band practice next week!  Gonna try to get back into it!

I like it, Bill!  That's a full-dress Jazz and I love the look.

Interesting look with the blocks on the neck but no binding. When I was in Japan they had a reissue with binding on the neck and dots - I think it was based on a transitional '64 - I was wondering if your '63 had binding?

Me too.  If the factory hadn't installed the covers, I may not have done so myself.  Although, when I was young, I recall leaving the bottom cover on, but I'm pretty sure I took the top one off for easier pick playing.  Yeah, no fingers back then!!!

I'm pretty sure my 63 did not have binding.  None the less, it was a real beauty. Hardly had a dent in it when I sold in 1975.

You know I love the look of both covers...I added them on my Jazz.

Yeah, it does give it a dressier look.  Kinda like a full dress Harley!

Exactly.  I call that my "Kansas City whorehouse bass" because it's all dressed up; even the strap has silver conchos and buckles.

I just realized, the MIJ Fender P-Bass I bought recently came with a nice brochure for the 50th anniversary Jazz - I might try and scan it later if I have the time.
